Pharmacy
The Department of Pharmacy at Green Hill General Hospital is an important partner in patient care, as the mission of the department’s employees is to provide a comprehensive pharmaceutical service to patients and ensure that they obtain safe and effective drug treatment using their pharmaceutical knowledge and expertise, and the department is committed to active participation in education and scientific research.
Pharmacy administration tasks :
- Dispensing general and specialized medicines in the external pharmacy to patients attending the outpatient clinics with a prescription signed by the consultant doctor, and also for reviewing card holders for patients attending the clinics periodically.
- Clinical pharmacy services provided by pharmacists in most fields of medical and surgical care.
- Dispensing psychiatric drugs through prescribed medical prescriptions issued by specialists, and they are registered in special records upon dispensing under the supervision of the pharmacy.
- Refer the list of urgent and necessary deficiencies of medicines and medical supplies to the hospital administration to contact the pharmacy department with the Ministry of Health for its provision.
- Follow-up and rationalization of the consumption of medicines and medical supplies in warehouses and hospital departments.
- Follow-up to the expiration date on the shelves for storing medicines and supplies, while inventorying the items received from us from the medical supply device or from the crisis committee in the hospital warehouses.
- Preparing an annual inventory of medicines and medical supplies to know the quantity of items available and quantities
- Received during the year and refer the report to the Ministry of Health.
- Training students of the College of Pharmacy in both the store and the pharmacy, in addition to giving lectures related to the curricula of study under the supervision of elements of pharmacists.
- Conducting research and studies in clinical pharmacy to evaluate drug efficacy.
